Finally, there’s some good news for users with A5 devices. Apparently, one of the popular iOS hacker, i0n1c has posted pictures of the JailBroken iPad 2 on twitter. Through the pictures, we can conclude that the iPad 2 is JailBroken on the latest firmware, iOS 5.1. However, it is not known whether the JailBreak is tethered or untethered. Considering the previous history, iPad 2 has always been on an untethered JailBreak. So we expect the same from the iOS hacker who has contributed a lot since the first ever JailBreak for both A4 & A5 devices on iOS 4.x.x. It seems that he has found out the vulnerability in iOS 5.1 as well. Due to which we can expect the JailBreak pretty soon. Currently, if you want to be JailBroken on iPad 2 or iPhone 4S, you should remain on iOS 5.0.1.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to revert back to iOS 5.0.1 from iOS 5.1 with the saved SHSH Blobs. Although you can save them until the APTickets window is not closed from Apple, but a method is still needed for the implementation.
